Newly formed Jaunt Records have set a high benchmark with this nice package of deep Detroit influenced techno. Blackhall & Bookless are long serving residents of the Jaunt events and open the labels schedule with 2 cool cuts of techno rich in underground atmospherics and sharp percussion, already picking up support from many techno heavyweights.

They’ve not held back on remix clout either – Ostgut Ton regular Virginia softens the mood with more gentle drums and a prominent hypnotic melody which carries the track nicely. Fred P’s remix is my personal favourite here, moving the track away from it’s original Detroit vibe with a mean and pumping sub bass that cuts right through the middle of mix. Big room stuff!

This appears to be a positive start for the label and looking forward to the next one already. Grab your copy from JUNO RECORDS
