I had no idea about this release until it got tweeted by one of the artists behind R&W. As soon as I saw the name ‘ James Welsh’ it took me all of 1 second to click on the link and listen.
Socks & Sandals is a straight up thumping piece of wax, consisting of just 2 tracks. Meat is a simple yet powerful little beauty which nicely crosses over from house to techno giving it a widespread appeal. Bucket Sheep gets dirtier and darker using more intricate synth work and heavily reverbed effects. A brilliant alter ego from James Welsh which I hope to hear more of. What else can I say….I just love this record! Go get it now at JUNO
