CONTEMPORARY SHOWCASE - FIVE TRACKS

5tracksnew

Hey guys, this weeks five tracks are all super hot, and fresh out...these are exclusively new and packing a punch.

After last weeks classics it´s always nice to balance things out with a good selection of what's on offer at the moment. Nowadays we have so many influences and genres that don't seem to mean so much anymore, but thats a good thing as we can end up with some wonderfully mixed up tracks which offer something new. Now is the time whole new genres are born free of the shackles of peoples expectations and driven only by the need to be good & new.

Tiger & Woods - Dr Burner - Loving this new cut from the mysterious production team, their usual disco edit style provides a familiar sound, infused with chopped up synthesizers and vocal. The beat could be almost 80's if it wasn't dressed in lashings of modern vibe, a brilliant update to a classic sound and definitely a track to spend the whole long hot steamy summer with...I'm burning up!

Next up we have a percussive beast, out since wednesday on Deep Vibes Recordings, this track teases with the tired old percussive stylings of the past few years, but as with many things Dive takes it a little further and a lot deeper. Its constant rhythm repeating but never tiring is weird enough to give it the edge & substance needed to stand out nowadays. Sasha Dives C20H25N3O Mix of Dj QU - Law.ndlogo

Lately I am quick becoming a fan of this next guy. Agoria is going from strength to strength and with a production sound that just stinks of down and dirty vibe, For One Hour is a lovely mix of simplistic but completely full bottom end, a powerful but eloquent bass drum provides the main theme for the tracks and is complemented by the strings and vocal which take you to another place.

From Four Tet this is a glorious track, Four Tet's productions can vary and his recent album featured some very experimental tones, now I know this one is a few months old but I really wanted to share this one, disappear into your own little world for a few minutes...

Last up is an unreleased promo I thought I´d share with you all, out on a future remixes EP on No Dough, its my Tonto remix of Last Days of Rome, heavily Crydamore influenced and frenched up weirdness...

Your right there suddi! A brilliant 5 tracks, i especially like the Sasha Dive remix of LAW. Pure beef in one track and no noticeable kick until after 2 mins, love that! Great selection one again.

Wow, this is an awesome Friday Five! The best thing about these tunes is that I don't know them! Nothing better than moments of discovery and I feel like I've just had 5 epic moments from one blog! :) How good is the Tiger & Woods track? reminds me of the hugely underrated Playgroup... and this new Nodough track is so up my street. Authentic disco loopage with a real DJ Sneak/Derrick Carter feel about it. Awesome stuff. This has to be one of the best Friday Five to date. Thank you Nodough people for ending my week on such a high! :-)
