No Dough Music

What a wonderful time of year this is!  I don't know what its been like near you... but here its been getting hotter and the sun has been out.

Dare I start feeling a little summery?  a little optimistic....  a little excited.....

I keep finding myself day-dreaming, off in my own world, with an ice cold drink in some beachside bar in the hotter part of the world, what is it that's so enticing about summer + music, the perfect combination to construct some memorys that will last a lifetime.

So in this first in my new series of Friday blogs, I'll be doing a quick run-down of 5 tracks that have made me happy / sad / excited or shocked that week, this week its all presented by a thoroughly old school radio host, and in the fitting optimistic vibe... from the good old glory days of radio.

One of the freshest albums out in a long time, and with some terrific remixes just out, Caribou - Odessa, its loose its excentric and its thoroughly beautiful.  Odessa embodies true inventive production, I have played this too many times this week, and last week...and well...you get the picture.

Grum, man I couldn't let this go without letting you have a little listen to this easy listening monster, retro vocals and heavily disco drenched beats, "Take me to the Stars" was quite graciously given to all his fans for free for the launch of his album...and yes you should check that out too. Every now and again you get a tune that out of the blue, when an artist...you really don't get creates something that just hits the right spot...I'll say no more, Scissor Sisters - Invisible Light.

Now if this next song could get any more lush, you might have to revive me...it sucks you in and takes you on a wonderful sun soaked journey, deep and melodic with beautifully punchy drums...I think I am going to cry. "Vincenzo and Elmar Schubert -  Wanna Love You".

To finish off this first little jaunt into blogging, and sharing my mood how could I not finish with a TT remix, this guy is prolific and "Balearic Incarnation" Edit is just a perfect finish to my 5 tracks today, as you can guess I'm in a very summery mood this week...let the party begin!
